Formation of NO and SO 2 in the Sintering Process of Iron Ores Springer

There are many studies showing formation of NO and SO 2 during combustion in the sinter mix conditions. Pan et al. [ 13] showed the formation of NO and SO 2 with time during the iron ore sintering process. The formation of NO was nearly constant from 2 to 16 minutes, but SO 2 showed two high peaks at 1 and 15 minutes.

1. Introduction. Iron ore sintering is an indispensable part of the iron and steel metallurgy industry. Before blast furnace ironmaking, the iron ore feedstock must be sintered to prepare a sintered ore with excellent properties (Yang et al., 2022).The melt and flow characteristics of iron ore at high temperatures are critical indicators to measure the sintering performance of ore.
